It's been a long time since my last post. Things have been busy in the non-cake part of my world. ;-)
A friend threw a party for her son who turned 4. His favorite books are the Richard Scarry books. So that was the theme of the party. I was asked to do a cake with some kind of Richard Scarry theme. If you don't know about Richard Scarry, then start with his Wikipedia article.

The Bunny Cake
My older brother called and asked if I could make a cake his girlfriend's birthday party. One of her friends was going to celebrate a birthday around the same time. One of the girls likes bunny rabbits and the other likes butterflies. I don't remember which one likes which. But that's okay. Neither one is my girlfriend.

Winged Running Shoe
This cake was for a 13-year-old's birthday party. He is on his school's cross country team and we decided it would be neat to create a cake to mimic the team's logo, which is a sneaker with wings.

Ambulance Cake
I made this ambulance cake for a 7-year-old's birthday party. His parents volunteer with the local ambulance service. This cake is based on an actual ambulance in the fleet. I took some artistic license with the scale and some of the details.
